SMBA PRESENTS - BIKETOBER FEST! October 2-4
Mountain Bike Events Schedule:
Friday Oct 2nd - 8:00pm "Freedom Riders" at Sheridan Opera House, $10 at the door. Freedom Riders is a freeride movie about a group that evolved from building rouge trails, to developing a positive relationship with the Forest Service and creating some of the first freeride trails supported by the Forest service. Visit freedomridersthemovie.com for more details. There will be $5 raffle tickets as a fundraiser for the San Miguel Bike Alliance. Saturday Oct 3rd – 9:00am - 9:00pm - Fall Tilt 12 hour down hill race; an epic endurance race full of action. With 12 hours of action, there is plenty of time to get a chance to hike through our new bike park and see what all the hype is about and catch some spectacular riding along the way. Professional rider, Trevor Martin and SMBA President, Adam Black will be heading up the home team of locals. The remaining board members of the San Miguel Bike Alliance will be, volunteering and cheering for the home team nonstop.
Saturday Oct 3rd - 10:00am - IMBA's International Take a Kid Mtn Biking Day. We'll be gathering at Paragon Sports, Main Street location. Trail options include the valley floor and Village trial depending upon rider abilities. Telluride, Colorado is registered with IMBA as a participating Town. Kids will receive Cliff bar snacks, official race plates and special stickers to give away as prizes. Our group is also eligible for any IMBA raffle prizes. Visit imba.com for more information.
Sunday Oct 4th - 10:00 am - Ophir Pass Hill Climb, $10 entry fee. Run or bike to the top of Ophir Pass, elv. 11,800 ft. Distance is approx 3 miles, ascending 2,105’ a classic fall race in the beautiful, San Juan’s. Entry includes post race BBQ at Ophir Town Hall!
